Dear Vendors,
On behalf of the Mayor’s Office, The Greater Houston Convention and Visitor’s
Bureau through Space City Houston, Houston City Council District D and the
residents of the Sunnyside neighborhood, we are pleased to announce the 4th
Annual Chocolate Bayou Festival. To be held Saturday, October 7, 2006, the
Chocolate Bayou Festival is the culmination of a year of celebrating the history,
heritage, art and culture of Houston’s historic Sunnyside neighborhood. Last year’s
festival was attended by over 10,000 people and featured a youth basketball
tournament featuring our own Mayor Bill White, and two days of live music concerts with
performances from artists such as Angie Stone, Bridgette Taylor, the renown Abundant
Life Cathedral Choir and many more local artist in the city. This year we are proud to
present The O’Jays and Latoya Luckett.
The Chocolate Bayou Festival will generate funds to establish scholarships to Houston
Area youth, with emphasis on those from the Chocolate Bayou neighborhoods.
We project over 15,000 people will join us at this year’s Chocolate Bayou Festival. By celebrating the very best of the Greater Houston’s cultural community, the Chocolate
Bayou Festival fulfills its mission of educating, celebrating and presenting the very best
African-American art, history and culture.
Vendors R’ Us will again be the vendor management for the Chocolate Bayou Festival.
It will be a pleasure to have you as a vendor for this grand annual event. An application
